EST-Floattech appoints Commercial Director

EST-Floattech B.V. appoints Walter van der Pennen as CCO as per October 1st, 2021.

Van der Pennen will be responsible for the Commercial Department of EST-Floattech’s Headquarters in the Netherlands and in its branch in Hamburg, Germany.

As a member of the Board of EST-Floattech, Walter will also contribute to the commercial policy of the organization and work on innovations in the field of Business Development.
Walter van der Pennen will report to CEO Hans Visser.

Visser: “We had set the goal that the intended Commercial Director should be someone who has experience within the maritime sector and at the same time has knowledge and expertise in the field of batteries and energy storage. Walter’s profile fits the assignment perfectly. He not only guarantees good commercial performance, but also the innovation in this area is in good hands with him. With Walter’s new role within the organization, the Management of EST-Floattech is now complete. We are ready for the further growth of EST-Floattech”.

Van der Pennen has been working at EST-Floattech since 2017 as Business Development Manager. He previously held the position of Product Manager Hybrid Energy at RH Marine. With his 10+ years of experience in energy storage systems for the maritime sector, Walter has extensive knowledge about electrification of shipping and has set his goal on making the sector future-proof with EST-Floattech’s safe and modular batteries.
