EST-Floattech at Electric & Hybrid Marine World Expo
We would like to show our latest developments and the possibilities of battery hybrid and fully electric sailing, battery applications for shore staying, hotel loads and containerized solutions.
During the show we will give two presentations. One focuses on a hydrogen innovation project we are partner for. The other one will elaborate on hybrid container solutions in offshore applications.
Hydrogen- and battery-powered pushing barge by Kilian Hoffman
A consortium of companies is building the first German hydrogen- and battery-powered pushing barge, which will transport Siemens wind turbines from Berlin to Hamburg. The ELEKTRA anticipates the desire to make all Berlin’s transport zero emission by 2050. Because the harbor basins lie directly adjacent to residential areas, noise is also a major issue: electric motors generate 70% less noise than the current diesel engines. The project also includes the challenge of providing a bunkering infrastructure.

Temporary power supply: what can we do to improve? By Walter van der Pennen
In offshore construction, steps are taken to reduce the harmful emissions of the ships, but what about the temporary power supply for project-specific equipment? EST-Floattech performed a case study in which the benefits of a hybrid system are studied.
